Miss Venus, LLC, a Plus-Size Beauty Pageant Organization, Is Aimed at Showing the World That Big Girls Are Fabulous Too

Whether we like it or not, big girls are fabulous too. With that in mind, there is a new addition to todays curvy revolution; one that seeks to show the world that plus-size women are just as beautiful as their thinner fellow females. Joining the plus-size industry leaders like Lane Bryant, Catherines Plus-Sizes, and Torrid is Project Venus: Plus-Size; an international movement designed to promote the worlds acceptance of fuller-figured women within the beauty industry. To kick off its initiation into the curvy revolution, Project Venus: Plus-size is holding a beauty pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada titled as the Miss Venus plus-size beauty pageant. The pageants concept idolizes the roman goddess, Venus, because her image has always portrayed a woman with a not so skinny waistline.

As a rival competition to Donald Trumps Miss Universe pageant, the Miss Venus pageant is going to show the world that beauty does not come in just a size 0 to 8. To prove this, in December of 2013 real curvy girls, who are between pant-sizes 10 and 28, will model plus-size clothing for beauty pageant categories such as fashion, swimsuit (thats right swimsuit), and evening gown; all for the opportunity to become the first Miss Venus - the curvy goddess of love and beauty.

The Miss Venus plus-size beauty pageant should not be confused with being just another beauty pageant, says Shana, the events director. The revolutionary event is set to be filmed live for a Big Girls are Fabulous Too documentary that will be broadcast on television in America.
